    Biker:

Likewise, my system (300 MHz AMD K6-2) is less than ideal. But I can usually capture 704x480 at 30 fps with no problems on either my 17 gig Maxtor boot drive or my 30 gig Maxtor capture drive (both at UDMA 33).

    Arno:

Do you know the manufacturer and model number of the motherboard? Perhaps a BIOS upgrade is in order, to get your hard drive recognised.

Or it might be enough to simply make sure the BIOS hard disk configuration settings are all "auto."

Then you Don't have to use the BIOS "IDE HDD Auto Detection."

What is the AGP Aperture Size set to? With 256 MB RAM it should be at 128MB, if the BIOS allows.

      Kevin,

I'm using WINDOWS 98 se (Dutch)

      Matrox Graphics INC.
      4.10.01.4160
      7-16-1998

Matroxs video tools for windows 95/98
      Version 1.10.029
      1998.08.17

      DirectX 8.0
      Dx 4.08.00.0400

I have an extra Creative Dxr3 Card installed with it's software. I will take out the card and uninstall the software. I hope this will solve the problem.

        Arno:

Be sure to uninstall the Matrox software according to the instructions posted on the Matrox website:

        http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/faq/faq/0004.cfm

Be sure and follow the instructions to the letter.

Then download Powerdesk version 5.41 and Video Tools version 1.52 from the Murc download site. I recommend these because they give me the best compromise between performance and stability that I've found. Also, Video Tools v. 1.52 accepts the YUV hack which will allow you to capture uncompressed video using the Huff codec (note that you will need a processor of at least 450 MHz to take advantage of this).

        Good luck.

        Kevin

The first thing I noticed about the catpure info on your site is the "Video Format" @ 340+fps. The only 2 options I am aware of for adjusting frame rate are 15fps and 30 fps.

The second thing I noticed, was your software versions. The latest versions for the Marvel G200 w/vidtools is 5.41.008/1.52.003 respectively.

I use the Mill G400DH w/RR-G, so maybe my circumstances are a little different, but it never hurts to have the latest, if you haven't already tired them.

As for the 340fps you're capturing at, it explains why your images are moving so fast and why you record time is truncated.

Unfortunately, software is my weakest suit, so I can't be very helpful with where to adjust this parameter or what file to replace. There are a bunch of big brains on this forum, so I'm sure someone will let you know soon. I'll be interested in hearing all about it.

          Good luck
          J.Klein

After taking out the DXR3-card, formating C and re-installing Matrox software I had the problem again.
So I borrowed from a friend other software and my problem is over now.

Thank you all for your reactions,

            Arno
