Is the RT2000 capable of captioning or titles in real time?

We are doing 2 hour VHS tapes and it takes about 20 hours to render with rolling titles at the bottom.

Using Premiere 5.1 (6 is on the way), on a P4 1.5 GHz machine, Win 98, and 128 megs of memory.

So, what is the solution or isn't this possible?

    Thanks,
    James

Stationary subtitles are easy. Just use the Inscriber titler to create them and use them as an overlay + alpha channel. They are realtime and you can even apply video filters & many effects to them in realtime as well.

Rolling titles are harder to get in realtime. Inscriber can generate them but they require rendering, although this is relatively fast and can be done by just creating a preview.

Alternatively one can use 720 wide but very high bitmaps and use a 2D DVE to scroll it over time to get the rolling effect.

Doing a realtime crop of this effect (in the 3.0 public beta drivers this is part of the DVE's options sheet) you can limit the area of the frame it covers.
