Help Need to Rent Computer with RT2000 (UK)

Hi all,

I've got some footage that needs to be edited in Mpeg-2 and written to a DVD. This has to be done by mid next week, so no time to buy one and set it up. The footage will mostly be made on DVCAM. Is there anyone in the UK, preferably southeast who can rent their PC for a day or so, or do you know of any companies that rent out.

Tony, I don't know of anyone specifically who rents out, but it might be worth phoning DVC in Hove - they're one of the biggest NLE suppliers in the country, and very helpful. Tell them that Chris from Desktopvideoworld.com suggested them. Phone 01273 707200 or www.dvc.uk.com

Ouch, expensive solution (tho I'd drool over one). If you "only" need DV, not analogue as well, then you could drop the outlay by buying something like an ADS Pyro. I've been running one alongside a G200 Marvel in my "other" machine for months with very little in the way of problems. In fact, I've so far used the combination to write tutorials for VideoStudio4 and VideoWaveIII.

One of our regular visitors (JohnPR) is also a bit of an expert with the Pyro, and also Ian from Lynx pops in frequently. In fact, if you do decide on this route, Ian would be the person to phone about supplying the card, I'm sure he'll give you a good deal !
