How to play movies...

Hey,
I just wanted to know how to play those (insert favorite four letters word here)ing "SMR" movies... My friend made a movie at IDF but I can't play it... It' the same with other "SMR" movies...

well, sorry for being obvious, but you need the SMR codec thingy. it's out there, somewhere. sorry I can't provide a link.

SMR movies are mpeg4 compressed AVI's AKA Divx:-) but with a fourCC code of "nAVI"
if you change the fourCC code to something like MP42 or DIV4 if you have divx installed it will play.
I don't have any smr avi's so i dont know the exacted mpeg4 version they use but i will be one of the three
UPDATE : i've just read that SMR AVI's are mostly mpeg4v3 (so that's fourCC code MP43)

you can also use DIV3 or DIV4, since DivX ;-) is also MS MPEG4v3
