  • Rainbow Runner G-series audio popping problem

    I have a G400 MAX and Rainbow Runner G-series capture card (the rest of my system is listed below), and when I recording at 320x240, 30fps, 24-bit RGB uncompressed, audio at 44100Hz, 16-bit, Stereo, with Ulead Video Studio 5, I lose almost no frames and audio also records great.
    However, throughout the captures is a slight popping sound that varies in volume, and quickly becomes very intrusive. Does anyone know what might be causing this and what might be a remedy?

    The problem does not present itself using mjpeg encoding, but I was hoping to avoid using it if possible.

    Thank you very much,
    Nathan Mallory

    System:
    Pentium-3 850Mhz
    256 MB PC100SDRAM
    Matrox G400 MAX
    Matrox Rainbow Runner G-series
    Creative SBLive! Value
    Western Digital Ultra2 SCSI hdd (via onboard SCSI, not SCSI card)

    P.S., please let me know if there is any other relevant system information needed to diagnose this problem.

    Hello,

    I had the same problems with my Marvel G400 + VS4 or VS5. After searching and getting no where, I stopped using it for audio mixing (used VW3.5 instead). Eventually, I upgraded to MSPro6. I have been happy ever since.

      I'm sorry... MSPro? (what is it?)

        MSPro = Ulead MediaStudio Professional

        It is Ulead's best video editor. There is an upgrade available for current VideoStudio owners. Go to http://www.ulead.com for more info.
