<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">Ok, after weeks of misery we found the cause of the zigzag patterns -- power supply! Matrox is very sensitive to noisy power supply. I tried my G200 TV on few different supplies with no improvement. Here's my original message:

If you find a sollution, please, tell me. </font>
Was there really a need to resurrect 3 ancient threads with exactly the same response in each ? Surely just one would have done the trick.

But it seems that you have already answered your own question :
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">Matrox is very sensitive to noisy power supply</font>
. This subject has been covered on numerous occasions (51 threads to date), especially with Abit mainboards. I'm sure that along the way Haig offered some specific advice regarding capacitor values (for those daft enough to try a home cure) OR the opportunity to exchange for a new board. Or alternatively check that the PSU is offering 0.5a on the 5v and 12v lines.

On the other hand this could be a complete red-herring (I'm only responding to your statement regarding the power supply).

Chris, I would have locked two of the three threads and forced them to contain it all in one.

P.S. Hope all is going well with the rebuilding of DesktopVideoWorld. (I was about to copy the entire contents of your site just as GA pulled the plug (errr you lame freaks))

      Hi Greebe

Yeah, but I didn't want to lock the threads in case someone had legit cause to add comment to one (they aren't all the same).

Having a fun time with the reconstruction, I've set up an account to host the "mirror" site which I can activate as soon as nominet confirm. Now back to patching html

Sounds great, just hope you don't get a html hangover from it all!

        BTW that's 0.5a on the -5 and -12vdc lines.

The means of testing this requires a static load (power resistor) and even then it's not so much the current that's important, but the AC ripple and noise it'll produce while under load.
