Used my RT2000 to do some DV captures and i was stunned at the picture quality. Can i get better quality if i capture my VHS tapes (analogue)to DV or is the quality dependant on the source material???
cheers

Quality is ALWAYS dependent on source material. If the quality is not that great then you can also feed the signal through a gadget like the SIMA SCC+ or Elite Video BVP-4+ video processor to restore the colorburst and synch. That helps a lot.
Of course if you capture analog to DV with the RT-2000 those files will be converted to 4:4:4:4 RGBA video on the fly, which of course means the video files are captured with an alpha channel. You can do a lot with that
You may be able to manipulate things to give a visually more-pleasing result, but you can never restore what has been lost and a VHS tape loses one helluva lot for you.
