Er, but what alternative is there?

    Er, win98
The beta's I was referring to is our win2k capture beta drivers.

Hmm, yes I know. I was pointing out that there has been never been an alternative to a beta driver for Win2K.

Hehe... well today I got the email for my RMA. Apparently I sent the wrong serial number and didn't send the product number. I used the serial number that PowerDesk gave me, but they said it is wrong. So now I have to look at the stickers. I'll do that later today.

The person that replied to my RMA email said I had given the wrong serial and the wrong product ID number. When he explained to me where each could be found, I took out my card to look for the numbers, and sure enough they were where he said they would be. Except that he says my serial number should have three letters and five numbers. My serial in Powerdesk was two letters and five numbers. When I saw the serial on the actual card in the little orange sticker, it was the same number that PowerDesk returned. Two letters and five numbers. I wonder why this is? Perhaps I have a card that is of a different design or something, and that is why it does not work. Maybe I got my card froma long forgotten pile in the back of a warehouse that was marked as a pile which contained cards that were malfunctioning and were manufactured wrong. Yet I still recieved this malfunctioning card. Strange how my serial is of different length than what it should be!

I have my final RMA number Excel document and all of that now. I have one question... Do I have to return the Card and all of the cables contained in the original packaging inside of THE ORIGINAL BOX? Or can I send the card and breakout box and cables inside of another, regular Priority Mail box or someting? None of the emails or the Excel Spreadsheet with my RMA information specified if I needed to send this all back inside of the original retail box or not... Other than this, I am all set to mail this.

I posted this here and at the Matrox Forums to get more people to see it.
