  • Adobe Premiere 4.0 / Rainbow Runner

    Hi I'm Ed and I'm new to the desktop editing game so I could use some help. I'm using a Rainbow Runner card with Adobe Premiere 4.0. My system board is a Tyan Trinity 100AT and the Processor is a AMD K6-2 set up for 500MHZ.
    When trying to import a AVI file to Premiere for editing I get the following message...

    CODEC NOT FOUND... A DRIVER (.DRV OR .DLL) REQUIRED TO OPEN THIS MOVIE IS NOT INSTALLED IN YOUR SYSTEM..

    Would appreciate your help as I do not understand what the message is telling me. Is it a file in the Premiere 4.0 software that I'm missing or is it a file from Rainbow Runner. Where do I get the missing data.

    You can tell by this note that I'm a real rookie at this. Thanks Ed...

    The proper installation procedure for Premiere, and most other editors, is to install them before installing the cards capture drivers. If you violated this correct it.

    You did install the capture drivers, right? If not get 'em here;

    You're looking for these files;

    Display Driver 4.31

    Also: Premiere 4 tends to be a bit twitchy and not very compatable with the Rainbow Runner. That's not to say you can't get it to work. It just might take some work thus raising your learning curve.

    MSPro or VideoStudio are better choices, especially for a beginner. Still, if you wish to use it expect "issues".
