  • virtualdub 1.3a RR/G and audio problem

    hello,

If I try capturing video with the Matrox videotools (1.52) I correctly get an AVI with audio and video and I can hear in the background audio from my VCR.
But if I run virtualdub 1.3a I can't hear audio anymore as soon as I begin to Capture AVI. All I hear is something similar to white noise and this goes into the AVI too.
    Any hints??
Cabling is OK otherwise the audio in the AVI captured with VT wouldn't be correct either.
I also checked the Line In mark in the audio control panel and it is correctly enabled.

    This is "Normal"!
Check a different Video input source and then go back to the first and you should hear sound correctly!

    Thanks Aryko

Thank you for the suggestion but it does not work.
I tried switching from line-in to midi-in, cd-audio in, microphone-in etc. but all I get is the same kind of noise and nothing else.
If I mute all the inputs the noise goes away though.
      Sigh......

I think what he means is the video input source, not the audio source. Ie., in VirtualDub, select video format, and switch around with your source.

In my case, when my vidcap driver starts up, even if it's previously selected S-video I hear the audio from the TV Tuner. I have to open video format and reselect S-video (even when the radio button's already set to S-video), this sets the proper audio stream.

thank you a lot for the help!

now it works, after I reselect the video source again even if it's already selected!

          Take care :-)
