You couldn't be more true (and in excellent queen's english too), Brian.
BTW, Brian what's the "contraption" you're using (the one you somtimes mention). I'm about to dump the Marvel on my other computer and would like to consider a new approach twards video capturing.

It is up to us Mediterraneans to keep the English language as it should be and not corrupted by the English themselves (and even less by the Americans who cannot spell "colour" correctly!), who seem to insist increasingly on "we was" and pronouncing "drawing" as if it were written "droring" and 101 other linguistic solecisms (note my use of the conditional).

Canopus ADVC-100, which now seems to be out of production, replaced by the -110 which has a power problem. It is normally powered from the 6-pin IEEE-1394 socket so, if you don't have one, you're up the proverbial gum tree. This implies that the optional external power supply becomes necessary. I don't know whether 6-pin and external power are compatible.

Alternatively, if you have just received a legacy from your late Uncle Jonathan, you may wish to consider the ADVC-300, which has an additional time-base corrector and various signal correctors which will offer you the best compromise if the signal-in is garbage. I'm toying with buying one but I have yet to convince herself, the distaff side. Unfortunately, I've cooked my goose for the moment because I've just bought the software for copying DVDs and she doesn't yet appreciate the need to copy all my 100 or so 15-y.o. VHS-C tapes.

Thank you Brian for the info. So in your opinion I should forget the Canopus ADVC Converter 110, at least for the time being, because of the power problem. An IEEE-1394 socket is not a problem. I have just been given a board with a nice row of 4 but I will take you advice and consider something else.

Bri, colour is one example, programme is another. Not that I'm good at sprlling correctly, but.....

Yes, It is up to us Mediterraneans....... and may I add "us old" folks from the ex colonies.
