  • RT-2000 and Turtle Beach Santa Cruz....

    It WORKS!!

Installation with the RT-2000 in place can be a bit different than normal though....

    Win98SE + MVT 3.0 PR2:

    1. uninstall drivers, remove the current card from Device Manager, uninstall the Matrox Video Tools and shut down.

    2. swap cards.

    3. power up. When Win98SE detects the card, cancel the HW installation.

    4. plug the CD into a drive and install the drivers.

    5. reinstall the VideoTools and you're off & running.

    Win2K + MVT 3.0 PR2:

    1. uninstall drivers, remove the current card from Device Manager, uninstall the Matrox Video Tools and shut down.

    2. swap the cards

    3. When Win2K detects the card it'll install some Crystal drivers. DON'T let it reboot after it has finished.

    4. plug the CD into a drive and install the drivers.

    5. There's a problem with the Win2K installer. When you get a prompt to reboot after the installation, DON'T. Cancel the prompt and let it sit for ~1-2 minutes. Now kill the task in the Task Manager. Reboot manually.

    6. When it comes back the PowerDesk icon may not be in the systray. If you want it there turn it back on in the Display Properties/Settings/Advanced menu.

    7. Reinstall MVT 3.0 PR2. Back in business.

Works great, sounds great so far.

    Thanks!

All of the information in this forum is just too good for a post. It really sounds like it should be in a FAQ somewhere.

Can I also add that I've been using it in an AMD 1.1Ghz machine with VIA KT133A chipset with 0 problems.
