  • Vdub freezes after 35'47'' capture

I have installed both new drivers and new video tools yesterday. The good is that YUY2 capture is working perfectly _without_ re-aplying the FD patch -- through Custom format menu in Vdub.

The next good thing is that audio sampling seems to be far more stable now. The meter in Vdub changes by few Hzs and frame drops are rare. Despite I have Marvel G200, and Haig in recent posts said that my card is not supported with new releases, Matrox definitely did something to improve drivers even for Marvels .

The really BAD thing is that the capture freezes at 35'47''. Vdub documentation recognizes this problem as improper 2^32 arithmetics in the driver. With 1.52 video tools I never had this problem.

I will do some more tests on this (like to see if this apllies to MJPEG captures as well), but I am afraid this is a bug in the driver and I have to roll-back to 1.52 until the supported drivers for Marvel will be out.

This happens to me to with YUY2 and 1.54 drivers! I did not try 1.50 (original) or 1.52 drivers. MJPEG and RGB does not have this problem.

      YUY2 and VT 1.54?

The 1.54 drivers YUY2 support is seriously broken. 1.52 works.

Yes, yes... Everyone says it is broken but noone knows exactly what is the problem. I can say that it works excelent until 35ths minute.

I've rolled back to VT 1.52. Everything is working smoooooth now. I guess the stability in the sound sampling rate came up because of 2.07 BIOS upgrade, not 1.55 video tools. My system is giving 2-3 times less frame drops (which I always thought were because of audio-video sync).

Now I am happy with my setup and waiting humbly for the promised release of v/tools for Marvel in late May.
