Hopefully a little less than 7 months, but Tobie did say barring disasters. I'm not chancing my arm because such a radical new software may take much longer than foreseen in beta, even though I've seen the hoped-for timetable. Personally, I'd rather it took 1 or 2 months more and have it as perfect as poss, than to have to bring out SP1 in extremis almost before the ink was dry on the CDs. I know the bean counters may think differently, though. However, it is still 100% speculation for the moment.

Radical indeed. If they took half the betas suggestions in addition to what we've been told then it'll really be radical

This time people will actually have to read the manual

They've been working on it for a loonnngggg time so hopefully the beta schedule will survive pretty much intact.

OK, so you can't say when MSP8 will be released. How about this - I just ordered a Sony HDR-FX1 - would it be a waste of money for me to buy the HD plug-in now for my existing copy of MSP7 or should I just wait for the upgrade to MSP8?
