Using MSPro timeline cues as chapters in DVD WorkShop 2 and DVD MovieFactory
I've tested this technique using both DV type1 and DVD compliant MPEG-2 exports from MSPro.
MediaStudio Pro:
Set your cues on the MSPro timeline (I set one at 00:00:00;00 and the rest as required) then encode using the "Add Keyframe at Cue Position" option in the Create Video/Options/Video Editor tab.
DVD WorkShop2:
After importing this file into DVD WorkShop 2 select "Auto Add Chapters/By Scene Detect". A dialog will pop up where you can select the cues you want to keep (or delete those you don't). After exiting this dialog the cues will appear in the Chapter List.
Note: some people have reported having to use the Scan button in this dialog to get the cues to appear, but on my MSPro 7.3 setup they appear automatically.
If you use the Menu Wizard you get 'em all on the menu. Otherwise you can create the menu manually using or not using the chapters as you see fit.
DVD MovieFactory:
After importing this file into DVD MovieFactory click on the "Add/Edit Chapter" button then select "Auto/Insert scenes as chapters" and OK.
The cues should now appear in the Chapter List.
In the menu dialog selecting the filename as the "Currently displayed menu" should present all the chapters.
