  • Windows XP and Rainbow Runner

Hi guyz...Just wondering if anyone is having any issues with the Beta 2 of WinXP Whistler and the RR...Seems as though the only problem I have, which is kinda big, is that when I go to shutoff the TV-VCR program the sound wont go off, and eventually the system just crashes and/or reboots itself...Is this happening to anyone else?

    Thanks in advance!

XP is not a supported OS, from neither Matrox, nor MS.
You should expect bugs (and even major bugs) from a beta OS.
Check back when it is a publicly released final OS, and has officially supported drivers...

      Hi dj911,

Don't know a direct answer to your question, but Windows XP has...

      "Increased Application Compatibility

Hundreds of applications that didn’t run in Windows 2000 Professional will run on Windows XP Professional, right out of the box.

If an application is not natively supported by Windows XP Professional, a user or system administrator can specify if the application needs to run in either a Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 95/98/Me compatibility mode, giving the program an opportunity to execute appropriately without a noticeable loss of performance."

Which if it works (yeah, I know) may prove very useful.

So I guess Microsoft is you first port of call.

      Regards,

      Nick.

Ah! But that statement mentions applications - here we are also dealing with drivers interfacing to the OS in this case.
Wait for final release of XP and wait for MATROX to release new drivers !

          Win XP any revolutionary good?
It's rumored that XP will be copy protected (it's OK) but the copy protection will allow only 3 reinstallation (it's bad)
