  • Best Capture Card for DVD

    Hi all,

    I would like your input on a something a friend of mine is thinking of doing. She would like to convert peoples home videos into DVD's or something similar, this is as a business. Can anyone suggest a good capture card for doing this, not much editing will happen, if any at all, mostly just converting to DVD/MiniDVD/SVCD whatever is the best end product.     Sorry, I'm not qualified to recommend a capture card but I think you might find this link interesting:

    This should give you an idea of what you're up against in offering a video archiving service. These cats will restore VHS video and burn to DVD starting from around 100 bucks U.S.! Check out what's involved. You need gear that can restore and sharpen VHS video, real-time high-quality MPEG-2 encoding and a DVD recorder.
