CPU selection

The speed of encoding/decoding seems to depend heavily on CPU performance. I am considering upgrading my processor to a PIII 933MHz or 1GHz. Unfortunately, it seems that the slot 1 package has its limitations. Whereas the 933MHz version is available as both 100 and 133MHz FSB, the 1GHz version is most often offered only with 100FSB.

My question: what is more beneficial, a 33% faster bus, or a 7% faster CPU clock?

Yes I agree. I can clock my cpu from 900mhz with a system-clk of 133 to 990mhz with a system-clk of 110 (ram-clk would be 147mhz, too much for my dimms) and I can tell a difference of 23mhz ram-clk weights much more than 90mhz cpu-clk.

I mean that 33% faster bus is more beneficial than 7% faster CPU clock.
