  • Ulead DVD plugin

I am using the new MSP6 dvd plugin. I am trying to encode using TMPG to achieve best quality and then author using ulead plugin. The plugin will not recognise the converted files even though I have used the correct templates in TMPG. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

I have successfully used TMPG video in the plugin. I used the closed GOP for editing feature. The only hang up was my MPEG2 file was 24 fps with flags, instead of an actual 29.97 fps (NTSC). The menu items went to the wrong frame numbers when using may APEX. Apparently the menu features are expecting real 29.97 fps.

i haven't gotten around to buying the DVD Plugin yet, still too many questions, but I do know that TMPGEnc files are a little funky when trying to use the SVCD template. Try encoding a short clip as just a standard MPEG2 and with the appropriate settings, 480*480, right bitrate and all. You may have to use MSP to create the MPEG file which could defeat your quality hopes. This is one of the areas that is holding me up, if it will work with CinemaCraft files or even the MSP plugin, that would be great. If you need to rerender everything, that is not so good.

How are the menus and such? Are they as nice as I-Author and can you have hotspots and good stuff like that?
