MSP5.2 This program has perform n illegal operation and will close down.

Hi everyone,

Everytime I open Video editor I get a (This program has perform an illegal operation and will close down.) Sometimes it's fine, but everytime I open a saved video it definately occurs.
Tried re-installing it
using default settings
changing temps etc to diff drive.
No luck
can anyone help.

What are your system specs? ram etc.

system drive= 6gb 5000rpm
Slave drive= 20gb 7200rpm

Scsi Atlas Diff 9Gb

Sony Vaio using RR-Mystic combo
Win98 4.10 98

It runs great sometimes for a while, but last week my system crashed virus or something. I reformated everything and cleaned it up.
Now MSP misbehaves I don't see any topic under Ulead website about this.

Opening saved files takes an oughly long times. If they do seem to open it later minutes later crashes (this program has perform an illegal operation and will shut down) Stack dump at address........
I think it might be the cache setting for MSP.
Or some Direct X - Direct 3d file compatibility or something.

I had a similar problem when I loaded MSP 6.0
I then removed 6.0 and all was well. I had backed up the ulead32.ini file before loading MSP 6.0 and used it after removing 6.0 I also had a problem when I added a direct x plugin for an audio app. removed the plugin and boom MSP 5.2 worked again.
I don't know if this helps but it is possible you added something.
