As some of you have probably noticed the ESD and TBYB versions of MSP8 that had to be activated have a problem installing the recent hotfix and the Smart Compsitor Designer while newer versions do not have these problems.
There has been a lot of back and forth about this, and today Tobie Openshaw of Ulead posted this to the MUG-SW list;

I am told that there will be a NEW installer, which will solve this problem,
released within the next day or two. My apologies, on behalf of Ulead, and
I will let you all know (although Terry will probably pip me at the post) as
soon as it goes up.
Oh and at the same time, I can also happily report that Luke, tireless PM
for MediaStudio Pro, just confirmed for me that the system for naming fixes
and service packs, etc. has been overhauled and centralized, so as to
prevent future issues with confusing numbering/naming.
