PicVideo codec won;t show up in my avi_io :(

I installed the 3 codes from PicVideo and the Lossless Jpeg compression shows up in the multimedia properties window in the control panel of Win98se; but I cannot choose it as a codec when using avi_io...but the other 2 codecs (wavelet 2000 and MJPEG) show up...anyone know why the lossless codec isn;t there?
