I thought it was especially interesting to note the very revealing table in the second article.
It reveals that many 42-inch PLASMA screens, so-called "HDTV" panels, have a native resolution of only 1024 x 768, which means they can't even display all of the pixels of a 720p broadcast image - let alone a 1080i image!

That very fact alone is why I have been so wary of plasma HDTV's. I have yet to see a plasma HDTV that can display a full 1920x1080 frame. Yes, sure many can ACCEPT a 1920x1080 signal and downscale it to 13??X768 or some such nonsese, but what's the point if its not a true native resolution of either of the two HD standards? Whichever flat panel format, LCD or Plasma that can do true 1920x1080 and cost in the $2500-$3000 range for a 60 inch screen will get my $.Go Bunny GO!
