  • Capturing staight to MPEG4 ?

    Does anyone now if & how it is possible to cpature to MPEG4 from analogue source using the G400 (Marvel)?

    Thanks for any help guys (& guyesses)

    I don't know if there are any programs that can do that, but if there were, you'd need some serious CPU power. As I understand, even the fastest P4's and Althons would have much trouble encoding Mpeg4 in real-time.

      1. for G400-TV: install YUY2 patch. For G450 eTV: it's ready to go out of the box.

      2. install AVI_IO and DivX

      3. set the capture format to YUY2. Set the compression to DivX.

      4. Capture as normal.

      5. for playback to the TV-out put your card into DVDMax mode. DVDMax requires the capture be done in a width evenly divisible by 32 (ie: 704 wide and not 720 etc.)
