  • Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.0: $200 Upgrade

Now that the upgrade price has dropped to $200, I've decided to make the move to version 8.0:

Turn your life’s best moments into stunning movies with Corel VideoStudio! Get creative with drag-and-drop stylish templates, artistic filters, titles, transitions, and the whole palette of advanced editing tools. Get your FREE trial.

    Still waiting to download it.

But I'm looking forward to the Smart Compositor feature.

I trust you guys got any bugs that may have been in the initial release... ???

Forgot to mention, I also bought the Ulead VideoGraphics Lab:

I have to have VIDEO PAINT and CG INFINITY.

I haven't had a chance to do much video editing, yet.

But I really like the new Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.0 interface.

This is the biggest interface overhaul since version 5, in my humble opinion.

Lots of new features to learn.

        WARNING:

You need to uninstall QuickTime *BEFORE* attempting to install the ESD/upgrade version of Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.0.

If you don't uninstall QuickTime, then the installation - in my case - stalled.

For those who have BorisFX 6...

If you think you're going to be able to use BorisFX as a plug-in for MediaStudio Pro 8.0, forget it.

In my case, it didn't "plug in" to the new video editor.

Apparently, the Ulead plug-in architecture has changed.

But it did seem to load okay as a stand alone application.

            Msp 8

            Hey! You're from Boise! Too!

I just downloaded and installed the upgrade...things have changed a bit from 7 and I'm struggling a bit as I could work in 7 blindfolded...ahem...explains the quality of my work, eh?

I have abandoned the MSP Titling "CGInfinity" in favor of Flash, which has much more powerful text manipulation and such, particularly if you're willing to engage ActionScript. You can use the Flash x,y system to keep track of stage positioning in MSP...seems to work vewy, vewy well....

Where FLASH is concerned, that's my problem: I don't know Action Script.

But I agree; FLASH is more powerful as a vector-based graphics generator.

So you're here in Boise, eh?
