  • No DualHead fix in next (last) Marvel Win2k release

It seems as though Matrox does not intend to fix DualHead under Win2k for the Marvel cards either.

Haig responded to one of my posts about the matter on their forums with a simple "No."

    http://forum.matrox.com/mgaforum/For...ML/003399.html

I was under the impression that the G400 Win2k DH mess was fixed a long time ago and we were just awaiting the fix in the next driver release for Win2k.

BTW, I'm not trying to call heat on Haig (who has always been very good to us on the forums and who's been put in the unfortunate position of defending Matrox in this situation).

Man, Haig has been quite busy answering question after question. I would have been fed up a long time ago, and would have started answering posts with "hey mofo, don't be asking anymore stoopid questions up in here biaatch"

first of all, don't complain about something that they've never advertised to work! MS ****ed up dual monitor in Win2k, and Matrox found a workaround... the fact that they could make it to work with only monitor doesn't put the Marvel owners in a different group. People with a normal G4x0 also have the same limitation.

Just hope that M will implement support for independant resolutions mode in win2k with TV as secondary device with their future card(s) (aka G550), and that they will also use the same code for the G4x0 (if it's not too much trouble to use the same with the G400, as the TV out stuff on that card is quite different from the G450).

Yup. The changes in Win2K's DualHead/DualMonitor support parallels its lousy analog multimedia support.

Look, I'm not bustin' Haig's ass here, I'm calling attention to yet another aspect of how Win2k using Marvel owners are getting fuX0red. This is unacceptable.
