Seems like they had some bugs that couldn't be easily corrected.
    P.S. You've been Spanked!

I love that HD DVD talk. I just hope is shakes down to consumer level at some point.

Personally, I hope the HD DVD wins the war over BluRay, if only because the latter is yet another Sony attempt to bulldoze their ideas into the public mind. If Sony does win, it won't be long before they add tweaks that take it out of the standard for their own commercial advantage. For me, it's a toss-up whether Sony or Microsoft is the most unethical major corporation.

          Brian,

Forget the toss-up. Put them both in the same pan.

Apparently, Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 was released - with Blu-ray (BD) disc support, but *without* the proper *verification* required by the licensing entity.

So - now - Ulead is apparently working to correct that problem.

            According to the news release:

"Ulead... is actively cooperating with the Blu-ray Disc License Entity... in the Blu-ray Disc Recording Function Verification Program for Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5."

            "Testing is moving forward."

So - apparently - this so-called VERIFICATION process is the issue.

Panasonic describes BD VERIFICATION on the following Web page:

The blogs seem to be making fun of Ulead in the aftermath of this problem:
