  • Macrovision patch not working

I've downloaded and tried the "MV-vtools-2.02.017-eng-2k.exe" macrovision patch and get the message "RRRAPI.dll Wrong File size! Must be 208896 bytes"

My RRAPI.dll is 145,408 bytes and the "Version" tab of the "Properties" dialog lists it as version 2.0.0.0

    I'm running Windows 2000, and using VidTools v2.00e and G400 driver v5.06.

Any suggestions? Until I get this patched I can't capture my home videos, as the driver interprets the static between scenes as MV.

    Thanks,
    Scott

The patch is for use with Video Tools 2.02 not the beta 2.00. 2.02 was released for the G200MMS and eTV but has been found to work with other hardware. You can download 2.02 from my Vid Tools page.

I tried 2.02 but was unable to get it to work w/o crashing. I have determined that I had some other problems that have been cleared up, so I'll have another go at it.

      Thanks,
      Scott

I installed VidTools v2.02 and when I try to run PC-VCR it wants to walk me through a channel setup.

I follow the wizard, and when I get to the end, the instant I click the "Finish" button, the computer reboots.

So... First, has anyone else had this problem? and if so, can I fix it? and if so, how?

And second, if it can't be fixed, is there, or will there ever be, a macrovision patch for 2.00?

        Thanks,
        Scott

I am wondering if this patch is for Win Me as well.
Do you have plans on making it for Win Me sergiovalentino?
Please excuse me if it is allready posted here somewhere. I have just joined this group and lurked only for a day.But am excited about this MV patch.
Will this patch work for Rainbow runner as well as the G450eTV?
I just found out the reason I have been having problems with RR is the Macrovisions and not my computer configuration.
                The captures just stop.
This weekend I am going to get the g450etv and will need to install this patch..
But wondering if I should stick with the Win 98 or try the Win Me .
                Thanks so much
I have learned more lurking in this Matroxuser forum in 1 day then I have learned in 2 years in the MATROX forum.
