  • Nero 5.5.2.4 released

    Changes from Nero 5.5.2.3 -> 5.5.2.4:
    Bug fixes:
    Some versions of Nero 5.5.2.3 were disabling the lower filter driver of Veritas and Padus Recording Software under Win2k
    Nero will now detect if some VCDMenu texts had to be clipped and will display a warning message
    Recorder could not be selected for several brands
    The property dialog for audio tracks was not displaying the actual parameters of the audio file. CD quality was always shown regardless of the track.
    Release date: June 11th, 2001

    I'm only up to 5.5.1.8 thus far. Can I go to 5.5.2.4 without going to 5.5.2.3 first, or must I install each increment?

      I did that. It wanted to uninstall the old version first then installs the new one. It seemed to go OK after that..

        5.5.1.8 worked great for me although I did not try the menus etc. Sooner or later one of these updates is going to cause me some problems, I am sure. Does anybody know if there is a name for the phobia characterized by fear of putting new software on your computer?

          I fail to see why these "minor" updates has to be 11M in size - I wish the darn industry will realize there is a real world out there where most of us plebs are still using 56k modems at best.

          That alone will ensure my supporting Adaptac/Roxio with ECDC/DCD in the short term - they issue only pathces - not the whole shebang application!

          Just me?

            Maybe you Nero veterans can help with this:

            I am haveing a bit of a problem with the Nero 5.5.2.3 when using it to make audio cds...
            ...as it is the crossfade feature does not fade...it just creates silence where the fade should occur. It actually cuts off the track by 2 or 3 seconds (or the length of the desired crossfade). So the song you want to fade into the following song actual creates goes quiet. Anyone experience this problem, or am I doing something wrong.

            regards
