    Here's the OFFICIAL release from SONY with some interesting details:



    Wow, they're going to include a PROGRESSIVE FRAME, 1080/24p option!

        I am not looking forward to editing these super high compression formats. Jeez, I thought HDV might be too compressed for an editing format.

        This is kind of akin to recording tracks in mp3 format. Crazy!

          I suspect they'll attempt to get around the compression problems by using INTERMEDIATE CODECS for editing.

            Then... what will happen with HDV? Will disappear "soon" (a pair of years) like MicroMV tapes or APS film? Is a bluff?
            Humm, very suspicious.

            I'm working in HDV with Sony Cams, for stock the HDV tapes for the future, but what future for HDV?
