  • SCSI problem, help please.

I noticed when playing back a DVD on my SCSI DVD drive that it will completely choke if I happen to press a key on my keyboard. From the inside I can see the status light on the SCSI card, and if I press any key the light goes off, when I let go of the key it returns. What does this mean? and when i press keys during the playback of a DVD it starts skipping like crazy.

Phire, it means you should keep your fingers away from the keyboard during playback of DVDs.

    Sorry, couldn't resist...

Does your SCSI hostadapter have an IRQ on it's own? Most SCSI don't like sharing - and maybe it's sharing an IRQ with the Keyboard controller?
Are you sure about your termination - although I really can't imagine how wrong termination could cause a problem like yours it can indeed cause all kinds of nasty behaviour.
