    Sorry Debbie

I've been through all of my installation CD's/floppies and can't find one of them for the SB16 (although I'm sure I've installed at least 3 of them in family PC's at one time or another. I've found 3 paper manuals (labelled "SB16 Win95 getting started", "SB16 Plug and Play - getting started" and "SB16 16-bit advanced wave table audio card"

The closest I've got electronically is some stuff for the AWE32.

    Sorry,

    Chris

you could try one of these:

      http://www.creativelabs.com/support/...s/SB162940.pdf

      http://www.creativelabs.com/support/...s/SB162960.pdf

The last 4 numerals represent the model of SB16 that should be silk screened on the card.

Good luck with it. Oh, by the by you will need Acrobat to reads them as they are in PDF format.
Perspective cannot be taught. It must be learned.

        Hi,

Thanks for your help. The museum lelic of the past I managed to get my hand on is the CT2830.

Have looked everywhere for a manual but nothing doing, perhaps I'll just stick it in and follow it from there.

        Thanks all the same.

          Hi All,

So I stuck it in...... and got a "nice" black screen with 'Windows protection error'.

          What's next?

Hi Debbie, if your SB16 is a NON-PNP version, you must reserve the necessary resources for ISA in your Bios setup and jumper the card accordingly. For example: IRQ5 and DMA 1.
Resistance is futile - Microborg will assimilate you.

              Hi Flying dutchman,

Please have a look at this site.

This is the Sound Blaster card I found. I will be obliged if you can let me know which jumpers to set on and off.

It's not Plug and Play, I think it's more likley to be Plug and Pray.

              Regards,

              Debbie

                Hi, Debbie

If you follow the illustration and make sure the jumpers on your card exactly match the jumpers on the pic, You should be okay, as the illustration shows the card's default settings. The only thing you might have to change is the jumpers for the on-board IDE. This might have to be disabled to get it to work in your system properly.

If setting everything to defaults doesn't work, It's just a matter of experimenting with other settings one at a time til it does.

                Love those old legacy devices!

                Kevin

                  Hi All,

Thanks you all for your help.

I did manage to get the card going... After a clean Windows installation and set IRQ jumper on pins 11. But did not fix original issue.

That means I can't use the YUY2 Patch. Hard luck !!

                  Debbie
