  • What have Tampons got to do with Video Capture??

    Hi!

Recently I have been using the brilliant free Video Capture program FreeVCR available here:

    http://gmouchard.multimania.com/freeVCR/freeVCR.html

But I was recently browsing this French site when i came across the following:

"L'ajustement du nombre de tampons vidéos et audios (ces tampons contiennent des données non compressées généralement). Ces valeurs doivent être augmentée si le nombre d'images perdues devient trop important."

Well, beats me! I have never ever, at any time used a tampon for video capture. I always use towels! No, just joking!

    regards

I use tampons regularly, in my ears, so that I can't hear myself swearing when something goes wrong while video editing

Seriously, un tampon is a buffer! Interestingly, Le Petit Robert gives 9 definitions, including the railway wagon usage, but not the buffer memory.
