  • Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.x help

    Need to take a IMG video from a CD, edit it and then burn again.
    What software is needed? Running Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
    I have ULead 7.0, but it would not read what was in my disk drive.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    First use a program like Nero Burning Rom to burn the *.img file to a disc.;

    Nero Platinum - Nero is the leading provider of premium software for the multimedia experience. We make burning, streaming, editing more convenient and easier. Start your free trial today!

    Since *.img's can be CD or DVD that part will have to be determined in the burning software. Let's presume DVD.

    Once you have the disc burned you can use MSPro7 to extract the MPEG's from a DVD using the techniques in this post;

    If this doesn't work you can also just copy the *.vob files off the DVD and change the extension to *.mpg. Not perfect, but sometimes works. Better to use the MSP7 capture module technique above.

    Once you have the disc's content as an MPEG you can edit it in MSPro7 and burn to a new CD/DVD using its DVD MovieFactory 2 bundled software.

    To be honest DVD MovieFactory 4 or 5 (also Ulead) are better as they have an excellent tool for cutting out several segments called "Multi-Trim" and their DVD importation module also works better than MSPro7's. Great for removing commercials, unwanted scenes etc.

    VideoStudio 9 or 10 have similar features and more advanced editing capabilities than DVD MovieFactory.

    All of these have free trial versions available on Uleads site;

    Turn your life’s best moments into stunning movies with Corel VideoStudio! Get creative with drag-and-drop stylish templates, artistic filters, titles, transitions, and the whole palette of advanced editing tools. Get your FREE trial.

      TMPGEnc DVD Author does a neat job too, with DVD movies (VOBs).
      Just point at the VIDEO_TS folder and it will convert it to MPEG-2 format on your HDD.
