According to the AkihabaraNews.com Web site:
"Behold the mighty iVIS HV100, the very first compact seize HD video camera from Canon!!!"
"So what special here compared to a SONY one for example, well the very first thing is that unlike ALL SONY HD camera (included the FX1) the iVIS HV100 carry a HD CMOS with a resolution of 1920x1080 (the "SONY" HD is limited to 1440x1080), this cmos is a 1/2.7 type with 2.96Mpix."
"The other very interesting point on this model is that canon decided to give to the iVIS HV100 the exact same picture engine as on the XL H1, the DIGIC DV II."
Sounds promising!

I had one for one day, took it home and started shooting around the house, low light is very aweful, pixelation and inacurate colour representation.
It was a brand new Sony. forgot the model number, (one of the new cams anyways)
If I were to buy another camera, it will be the Canon XH G1 or XH A1
Regards,
Elie
