    sorry to drag this one out a bit, but the article is flawed.

    The WMV-DivX Battle is uneven.
    The WMV bitrates vary from 6300KB/s to 4500KB/s
    The DivX Bitrate varies from 3500KB/s to 1500KB/s.
    The encoding time for WMV is over an hour in each example, and the DivX encoding times are all less than 30 mins...

    In my experience, from DivX, 1280x720p needs 5000KB/s to be good, 6000KB/s for near perfect.

    No wonder the WMV looks better than the DivX....
