    There are reports that Cyberlink's PowerDVD 7 (for the codecs) and TMPGEnc 4 work for editing AVCHD/H.264 MPEG-4 high definition clips.

    InterVideo's WinDVD 7 is also able to play H.264 files:



    I wonder if it would provide the codecs required for editing in either Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus or Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.

      If they install as Windows codecs, yes. In that case just create a custom profile using that codec.
