This is the area where I believe Ulead MediaStudio Pro falls behind the competition.
Apple Final Cut Pro, for example, fully supports DVCPro HD and XDCam HD:
Both Apple and Avid have expressed support for the forthcoming AVC-Intra format from Panasonic:
Meanwhile, Ulead only seems to support HDV... a fading long GOP tape format... a consumer format (not a truly professional format).
If Ulead MediaStudio Pro is to be marketed to professionals, then I think Ulead should offer support for truly professional HD formats.
What's up, Ulead?
I'm thinking that I'll have to migrate to the Apple platform when I upgrade to HD.
Ulead doesn't seem to be listening.

Pricegrabber.Com now lists the Panasonic AG-HVX200 at less than $4,500:
And that camera uses DVCPro HD at 100 Mbps.
Works for films, too:
No "long GOP" HDV compromises... INTRA-FRAME encoding.
And, yes, by July of this coming year (2007), we'll see the AVC-Intra option, which should be even better.
