    LCD Tv Question BLU-Ray/HD-DVD.

    Are there any LCD TV's with built in H264 decoding?

    It would be great if you could just slot in a HD-DVD drive / Or blu ray Disc drive, satellite module, Surround module in the side via USB. Make it completely modular. And get rid of all unsightly boxes.

    Not that I've heard other than a few that come with embedded SD DVD players & upsample to HD.

    On another tack Fujitsu is coming out with a codec IC in 2007, the MB86H50, that does realtime H.264 High Profile, Level 4.0. I've heard that these and similar chips will be used in HDTV's that will record to embedded HDD's, and likely optical media, for later playback.
