MSP 7.2 capture problem

I captured video from a DVD the last time I used MSP vid capture. I am now trying to capture video from my camcorder, and I can't get it to work. I was having initialization problems and when trying to change some settings, it kept wanting to read the DVD drive. So I put a DVD in the drive. THe name of the file to save after capturing keeps reverting to an MPG extension.

I have the cature device set for my camcorder (MS 1394) and can control the camcorder from the program. When I go to capture, however, it wants me to select scenes from the DVD I have in the drive. Any help would be appreciated.

There are two settings.

1. MS1394 Device Control (Sounds like you have this selected).

2. Direct Show Capture Driver (You may not have this driver selected).

It sounds like you may have the "DVD-VR Capture Driver" selected. That's the one that captures from a DVD disc.
