  • XP Pro + rt x100 + TH2G + Premier :-(

I'm using the above combo and with the powerdesk application open Premier Pro 2 is slow and unstable. I close the powerdesk utility and it works perfectly!

    Anyone else seen this?

Might be the infamous "Premiere bloat" hammering PD into submission on that hardware, which is slower for such things than a discrete TH card in a desktop.

Re-read the post. I misread it and edited.

Oddly though, it's just Premier I have the problem with (e.g. the system is otherwise responsive)... I'm wondering if it's something to do with the program maxmise function in the PD utility... But I'm gonna have a play this evening.

Another thing is that the TH devices have a special plugin for Premiere (and a few other proggies) that allows overlay on the tv-out, which does add a bit of overhead. Definitely would have been better if Premiere had overlay support from the get-go, but unfortunately not.

Don't use a TH2G so I can't answer that. I don't remember about the discrete cards as there were no issues so motive to look.
