    Thanks. I'll give it a try. It would solve my current dilemma if it has good picture quality. No need for a very fast C2D, no need for an nVidia card.

      Doubt it would make a difference, but note that I used non-HD video (DVD style resolution)

      BTW Hulk, ffdhsow also heavily uses asembly...but it's also how you use it

        I finally got some HD H264 content (720p, typical "fits one DVD" and "fits one dual layer DVD" things) and while using CoreAVC I can watch it without any problems on Athlon XP 1700+, 768 MB single channel, Radeon 8500 64MB...with ~95% CPU utilisation, but it works.
