Well, I have my system reconfigured... totally clean.
Everything works great.
But I would suggest to Microsoft that since the .NET Framework version 1.1 was a "critical" update, then wouldn't it be logical for versions 2.0 and 3.0 to *also* be included among the "priority" updates?
If that had been the case, it would have saved me a lot of grief.
In conclusion, Microsoft could have eased the pain of my driver installation a great deal by including the .NET Framework versions 2.0 and 3.0 as "critical" updates along with version 1.1.
Again, I believe Microsoft is the "weak link."
