Avid (Pinnacle) Studio 11 Ultimate Update Coming

Pinnacle is claiming their Studio 11 Ultimate software will soon be able to capture/edit/burn AVCHD to both normal DVDs and high definition DVDs:

** this will be available with Studio 11.1 (free patch for download)

* Import, edit & burn native AVCHD video format, for optimal export speed and highest possible quality.

Since the program doesn't have Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus's "Smart Proxy" feature, you have to have a pretty fast system:

Only if AVID's coders rewrote the code base.

Otherwise updating it is like putting lipstick on a hawg

It seems the AVID acquisition has done something positive.

The software seems surprisingly stable; not a single crash.

And no obvious conflicts with Ulead software.

On the other hand, I haven't tried burning any discs yet.
