This "IMPORT FROM DVD/DVD-VR" capture plug-in -- in VideoStudio 11 Plus -- is quite interesting.
When importing from the Sony HDR-SR1/HDR-UX1 models, the plug-in captures raw AVCHD as .M2T transport stream files.
When importing from the Panasonic HDC-SD1, on the other hand, the plug-in captures raw AVCHD .M2TS transport stream files.
So each camcorder manufacturer apparently abides by an "AVCHD standard" but implements that standard in a slightly different way, causing the VideoStudio 11 Plus plug-in to write two different types of file extensions for raw AVCHD captures.
