  • SANYO Introduces Cool New VPC-HD1000: Could This Be A Breakthrough?

    Microphone input.

    Headphone jack.

    Amazing number of modes:

    Full-HD: 1920 x 1080 (60 fields/s 12Mbps), HD-HR: 1280 x 720 (60 fps/12Mbps), HD-SHQ: 1280 x 720 (30 fps/9Mbps), TV-HR: 640 x 480 (60 fps/6Mbps), TV-SHQ: 640 x 480 (30 fps/3Mbps), and Web-SHQ: 320 x 240 (30 fps).

Could this be the winner we've hoped for from Sanyo?

    I'm intrigued.

Sanyo seems to have listened to customers with this model.

The specs look interesting but I don't see a viewfindwer only the LCD which seems to be a cost cutting thing these days. can't stand a camcorder without a viewfinder which helps in hand held stability and is easier to look thru that a LCD.

I find I'm using the LCD more with most of my camcorders.

So -- for me -- that's not a big issue.

Sanyo's U.S. press release is now up... and it states a suggested price of $799.95.

I might go for this one.

That 60 frames per second 720p looks very interesting.

Never use the LCD screen, except on a tripod.

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.
