  • LCD recommendation for Video and photo editing…

Not looking for a perfect monitor, something decent but without a price sticker shock. I already spend more then I should….

Will do NO gaming at all. Looking for color accuracy more then the response time.

    Any suggestions?

    Andy.

Colour accuracy is how you set it and can depend on many factors, including the ambient lighting. I have a Benq and 3 AOC 19" LCD monitors and they are all adjustable for the RGB colour response. The AOC ones won't hurt your budget.

I'm using Spyder Express to set my color space with.

But I understand that there are some monitors out there that will not support color space different then their own …. .

check out the Samsung 22" models, and Dell have a 24" with supposedly an extended colour gamut.

Also, No HDMI input I think....

I think I'll give this one a shot:

          BenQ G2400W 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 1000:1, 5ms, 1920x1200 - DVI, HDMI

          What do you think?

My Dell 2407 HC (high colour) monitor is amazing, especially after I calibrated it using Spyder Express!!

Check it out, 24inches of realestate space as well as high colour, hight and swivel adjustable base and all the inputs you can think of (except no HDMI)

            Regards,
            Elie

Have a look at the Acer Ferrari:

                They're pretty to behold.

Getting a little old now, but they're still pretty decent monitors.

                  Andy,

That one gets my vote. Excellent reviews and a great price. Plus able to display 1080p pixel-for-pixel if you ever have the need. Let us know how it goes regardless of your decision.

                          OK, made up my mind.

                          And the winner is.................................

                          BenQ G2400W 24"

As much as my heart goes for the new Dell, my brain says to go with the BenQ.

I may not get the best picture, but I could connect my new PC thru DVI, my old PC thru 15 pin and ......... HDMI cable so I can plug in my new camcorder and see it in full glory of 1080 as well. All at the same time too.

Acer 20" is sharp, but a little too small for Video editting...

The Westinghouse looks promising but at 26" we're talking more $$.

Between this monitor price difference and the purchase of the Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU from Micro Center for $199 instead on waiting for the new Penryn Q9450(building a new PC right now too), I'm half way to purchase a new lens for my DSLR camera.

                          Thanks to all for advices.

Actually that one was an accidental 'monitor overboard' I just took advantage of.

No....I have a wholesale source that can get them for cost + before they hit the retail channel.
