Small HD Camcorder from Aiptek

I've been following the Aiptek saga for a few weeks now.
Here are the problems with Aiptek:
1. No external microphone inputs *except* on a model that isn't available in the U.S (PocketDV H100 on the Aiptek English Euro Web site).
2. Cheap CMOS imagers with a *pronounced* rolling shutter effect (wavy video).
3. Obnoxiously bad internal audio recording quality, e.g. horribly low sampling rates, low or over-driven audio and audio artifacting.
4. Models with optical zoom suffer from slow auto-focus mechanisms.
If Aiptek's new models lick these problems, they might be successful. Even with these problems, quite a few people appear to be buying them and just enduring the issues.
The new model that you reference, Paul, records at 1440 x 1080 instead of 1920 x 1080. The model number in the U.S. will be the "AHD500 Pro."
