  • Canon HF100 experience 6 weeks later

Well it's been about 6 weeks since I picked up my Canon HF100. 4 weeks ago we had our first child, a baby girl named Madeline. As you can imagine I've been doing quite a bit of shooting here and there.

First of all I can't tell you how nice the tapeless format is. I can push "on" on the camcorder and be recording about 3 seconds later. No waiting for the tape to spool up or wondering if the tape is in the wrong position to begin recording.

As for the performance of the camera it is excellent. Of course we all constantly wish for better low light sensitivity but that's about it. Unless the put a bigger sensor in this thing that ain't going to happen. You just can't defy the laws of Physics.

Oh yeah. It's also really nice not hearing any tape transport noise in the audio track when the auto gain ramps up on quiet sections!

Still here, not as much anymore. Busy...

      How is the fatherhood going?

      A.

Fatherhood is great! Love it. Even during those long nights...

Lots of video to edit these days.
