PowerDVD Problem

I'm playing about with PowerDVD 10. The picture quality is quite impressive but I'm having problems playing mpeg 2 files with a high bit rate that puts them over 4.3Gb. The movie will stop playing way before the end, with the time bar reaching the end.

I remember having this issue ages ago with other players (probably WMP) but I can't remember how or what have solved it.

Any ideas please ?

4.3 Gb sounds like it's limiting to single layer DVDs. Is there a setting for dual layers?

Hi Brian,
Nice to hear from you. I don't think there should be a setting for dual layers on any players, softwate or hardware. I suspect it is somting to do with the conversion but I'm not sure about it.

You could try media player classic and see how it handles it, if it plays then you set media player classic to use the powerdvd codecs and see if it is a powerdvd player or the codec setup.

This is what happend: I tried WMP Classic and had no problems but haven't been too sure if it was infact using the PowerDVD codec from the external codec list. I blocked all othes and only enabled it.

Using PowerDVD: I disabled the Powed DVD filter from within the PDVD application folder and the mpeg2 movie played prfectly after a short delay. However it has not been possible to play and DVDs.
From what I can see it could be that the filter is not fully compatible with the encoder I'm using.
